Question 1

Install fails or Device Manager shows Code 10/28?

Accepted Answer

Run the Ralink RT3290 installer as administrator. If Windows blocks the older driver, disable driver signature enforcement temporarily or update manually via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk, selecting the RT3290 `.inf`. Match x86/x64 and Windows version.

Question 2

Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Enable the laptop’s wireless switch or Fn key, check BIOS for WLAN/Bluetooth disabled, and show hidden devices in Device Manager. Confirm WLAN AutoConfig and Bluetooth Support Service are running; reinstall the combo driver if only one function appears.

Question 3

Version conflicts or crashes after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Ralink/MediaTek RT3290 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth entries with “Delete driver software,” reboot, then install one matched driver package. Roll back the driver if an update caused instability.
