Name: Ralink RT3070 Driver
Author: Ralink

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The RT3070 uses older Ralink drivers that may be unsigned or incompatible with modern Windows. Try the Windows 7/8 driver in compatibility mode, or temporarily disable driver signature enforcement during installation.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown USB device. Try a rear USB 2.0 port, reseat the adapter, and update the driver manually via “Have Disk” using the extracted INF file.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Previously installed Ralink/MediaTek drivers can conflict. Uninstall all existing wireless drivers, enable “Show hidden devices,” remove old adapter entries, reboot, then install only one RT3070 driver package.
