Name: Ralink Mi Xiaomi 802.n USB Wifi Driver
Author: Ralink

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The Ralink USB Wi-Fi driver may be unsigned or mismatched to the hardware revision. Check the adapter’s VID/PID in Device Manager, use the correct INF, and temporarily disable Windows driver signature enforcement if needed.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a direct USB 2.0 port instead of a hub, reseat the adapter, and check Device Manager for unknown/USB devices. Remove hidden stale entries and rescan; avoid USB 3.0 ports if the adapter is unstable.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Old Ralink utilities or Windows-included drivers can conflict with newer packages. Uninstall existing Ralink/MediaTek Wi-Fi drivers and utilities, reboot, then install one driver version only and prevent Windows Update from replacing it.
