Name: Ralink 3090 Driver
Author: Ralink

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the RT3090 installer as Administrator and use Compatibility Mode for the target Windows version. If Windows blocks the driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall the correct Ralink 3090 package—not a generic RT309x/MediaTek bundle.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PCIe/mini-PCIe card, confirm it appears in Device Manager as an unknown network controller, enable the wireless adapter in BIOS, and install via “Update driver > Browse > Have Disk” pointing to the RT3090 INF.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall existing Ralink/MediaTek wireless drivers and utilities, select “Delete the driver software,” reboot, then install only the RT3090 driver. Avoid running multiple Wi-Fi utilities that can override the adapter’s driver.
