Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The Gigaware VGA camera often uses an older 32-bit/unsigned driver. Run the installer as administrator in compatibility mode for XP/7, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, or point Device Manager to the extracted INF file.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for “Unknown Device” or “Video Controller”; uninstall it and rescan. If no hardware ID appears, test the cable/port.

Question 3

Version conflicts/black image?

Accepted Answer

Windows may load a generic USB Video Device driver. Uninstall it with “Delete driver software,” reboot, install the Gigaware driver first, then select “Gigaware VGA PC Camera” as the video source and close other camera apps.
