Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Quatech QSCLP 300 setup as administrator and use the package matching your Windows version. Older PC Card serial drivers may be blocked by driver signature enforcement; temporarily disable it or use compatibility mode, then reboot before inserting the card.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the PC Card firmly and confirm the PCMCIA/PC Card controller appears in Device Manager. Install the driver first, then insert the card and scan for hardware changes; check for unknown devices or yellow warnings.

Question 3

Version or COM-port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous Quatech serial driver and delete its driver software, remove stale COM-port assignments in Device Manager, then reinstall the current package and reboot. Avoid mixing old and new Quatech driver versions.
