Name: QMS Magicolor 5450 Driver
Author: QMS

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back on Windows 10/11?

Accepted Answer

The 5450 uses legacy QMS/PostScript drivers. Run setup as administrator in Windows 7 compatibility mode; if Windows blocks the unsigned driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the correct port—USB direct, not through a hub, or Ethernet. For network use, assign a static IP and add the printer manually by IP with the QMS PostScript driver; reseat or replace the cable if no port appears.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts or garbled output?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing QMS or generic PostScript driver for this printer, clear the print queue, restart the spooler, and install one architecture-matched driver (32- or 64-bit) only.
