Name: QMS ColorScript 100 Driver
Author: QMS

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back on modern Windows?

Accepted Answer

The ColorScript 100 uses a legacy PostScript driver package. Run the installer as administrator, use Compatibility Mode, or add the printer manually via Add Printer > Have Disk and point to the extracted INF. Restart the print spooler afterward.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the printer is powered on and connected to the correct port—LPT1 for parallel or a valid TCP/IP port for network models. For network use, assign a static IP and add the printer manually; do not rely on auto-discovery.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing QMS/PostScript driver packages in Print Management, delete the printer, then install the matching 32-bit or 64-bit package. Avoid mixing the Windows generic PostScript driver with the QMS driver.
