Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Universal Control/AudioBox installer as Administrator, disconnect the 1818VSL until prompted, disable antivirus temporarily, and reboot before retrying. Remove any partial install first.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a USB 2.0 port directly on the PC (no hub), try a known-good cable, confirm the 1818VSL powers on, and check Device Manager for unknown/USB audio devices. Reinstall Universal Control after removing the device.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Universal Control, AudioBox, and third-party ASIO drivers, remove the device in Device Manager, reboot, then install one compatible Universal Control version. In DAWs, select the AudioBox ASIO driver and match the Windows/DAW sample rate to avoid dropouts.
