Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any older Plustek scanner software and disconnect the OpticSlim 2600, reboot, then run the Windows driver installer as administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus if it blocks the setup file.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub; try another cable. Check Device Manager for unknown/USB imaging devices, then reinstall the driver. Confirm the scanner is powered and connected before opening scanning software.

Question 3

TWAIN/WIA or version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove duplicate Plustek/OpticSlim entries in Apps & Features and Device Manager, reboot, and install only the driver version for your Windows build. In scanning apps, select the Plustek TWAIN/WIA source rather than a generic WIA driver.
