Author: Plustek

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Plustek OpticPro UA18 installer as Administrator and try Windows compatibility mode for your OS version. Temporarily disable antivirus/blocking tools, reboot, then reinstall; connect the scanner only when setup prompts.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a direct rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub or extension cable. Check Device Manager for unknown/USB errors, power-cycle the scanner, try another certified USB cable, and reinstall the Plustek driver.

Question 3

Driver/TWAIN version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Plustek scanner drivers and TWAIN/WIA entries, remove hidden scanner devices in Device Manager, reboot, then install the correct 32/64-bit package. Avoid mixing vendor and Windows Update drivers.
