Name: Plustek Opticpro ST28 Driver
Author: Plustek

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Plustek setup as administrator, close any scanner/TWAIN apps, and temporarily disable antivirus. On Windows 10/11, try Compatibility Mode for Windows 7. Use the package matching your OS architecture (32- vs 64-bit).

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the OpticPro ST28 directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check its power supply and cable, then look in Device Manager under Imaging devices or Unknown devices. Reinstall the driver if it appears with a warning icon.

Question 3

Driver/TWAIN version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Plustek/OpticPro drivers and scanner software first. Remove the device in Device Manager, including hidden entries, reboot, then install only one current ST28 driver package.
