Name: Plugable USB3 HDMI DVI Driver
Author: Plugable

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Unplug the adapter, uninstall any existing DisplayLink/USB graphics driver, reboot, then install the latest driver as administrator with antivirus temporarily paused. Reconnect the adapter only after installation completes.

Question 2

Device not detected or black screen?

Accepted Answer

Connect directly to a USB 3 port, not a hub or dock. Try the included cable, check Device Manager for a DisplayLink/USB graphics device, reseat the adapter, and confirm the monitor’s input source is set correctly.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows Update?

Accepted Answer

Windows may install an older DisplayLink driver. Uninstall duplicate/old USB graphics drivers, reboot, then reinstall the current Plugable-recommended driver. Avoid mixing drivers from different adapter vendors.
