Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the XLOADER setup as administrator. For older unsigned packages, temporarily disable Windows driver signature enforcement or use compatibility mode, then reboot before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the ConvertX M402U directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown device, install XLOADER first, then plug in the capture device.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall prior Plextor ConvertX/M402U drivers and capture software, reboot, and install only the matching 32-bit or 64-bit XLOADER package. Avoid mixing old and new driver versions.
