Name: PLDS DVD RW DS 8A3S ATA Device Driver
Author: PLDS

Question 1

Install fails or setup exits early?

Accepted Answer

Run the package as administrator and try Windows compatibility mode. Uninstall any previous PLDS/optical-drive driver in Device Manager, restart, then retry. If it still fails, use Windows’ built-in DVD/CD-ROM driver.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm BIOS/UEFI sees the PLDS DS 8A3S, check the SATA/power cable, and rescan hardware in Device Manager. If there’s a yellow warning, uninstall the device and restart so Windows reinstalls it.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate entries?

Accepted Answer

Remove old/duplicate DVD/CD-ROM entries in Device Manager, roll back to the Microsoft standard driver, and keep only one PLDS driver package installed. Restart after changes.
