Question 1

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check SATA/power cabling and confirm the BIOS sees the PLDS DVD RW DH 16ACS. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if the optical drive is missing, remove stale UpperFilters/LowerFilters registry entries after backing up.

Question 2

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

This ATA DVD writer usually uses Windows’ built-in CD/DVD driver. Don’t force an older PLDS package; run any installer as administrator, match 32/64-bit Windows, or let Windows Update provide the driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

After a Windows update, roll back the driver in Device Manager or uninstall the device and restart. Uninstall virtual-drive software that can conflict, then reinstall the current firmware/driver from your PC manufacturer.
