Question 1

Installer fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Unplug the GameCom 780, close Plantronics Hub/GameCom software, run the driver setup as administrator, and temporarily disable antivirus. Reboot, then reconnect the headset to a direct USB port before opening the software.

Question 2

Headset not detected?

Accepted Answer

Test a rear USB 2.0 port without a hub. In Device Manager, check Sound, video and game controllers for “Plantronics GameCom 780” or an Unknown USB Device; uninstall the latter, rescan, and let Windows reinstall the USB audio driver.

Question 3

Version/audio conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove older Plantronics GameCom/Plantronics Hub versions and stale USB audio entries, reboot, then install only the latest package. Set the GameCom 780 as default playback/recording device and disable conflicting virtual audio drivers if sound is missing.
