Name: Plantronics Audio 655 DSP Driver
Author: Plantronics

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the USB headset, uninstall any existing Plantronics Audio 655/DSP entries in Device Manager (including hidden devices), reboot, then run the installer and reconnect the headset only when prompted.

Question 2

Headset not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a rear USB port directly on the PC, avoid hubs, and check Device Manager for “Unknown USB Device” or disabled audio entries. In Windows Sound settings, confirm the Plantronics DSP headset is enabled and set as default playback/recording device.

Question 3

Version conflicts after Windows updates?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Plantronics software and conflicting generic USB audio drivers, then reinstall the correct 655 DSP package. Set the headset as default and disable exclusive-mode/enhancement conflicts if mic or playback still fails.
