Name: Pioneer BD RW BDR 205 ATA Device Driver
Author: Pioneer

Question 1

Firmware/driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Close Nero, ImgBurn, or any app using the BDR-205, run the Pioneer updater as administrator, and confirm the exact model before flashing. If Windows blocks it, retry in compatibility mode.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the SATA data and power cables, try another SATA port, and verify BIOS/SATA mode. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if the Blu-ray drive shows an error, uninstall it and reboot so Windows reloads the optical driver.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Pioneer or third-party optical drivers and burning suites, then roll back to the Microsoft generic CD/DVD/Blu-ray driver. Reinstall only the latest Pioneer firmware/driver package for this model.
