Name: Pinnacle Systems DV500 E4 Driver
Author: Pinnacle

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the DV500 E4 setup as Administrator in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode, disable antivirus temporarily, and remove any previous Pinnacle DV500/Studio drivers before reinstalling. Use the exact DV500 E4 package; generic DV500 drivers may not bind correctly.

Question 2

Card not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the card in a 32-bit PCI slot, avoid PCIe-to-PCI adapters, and check Device Manager for an unknown multimedia/video controller. Assign a free IRQ and disable onboard IEEE 1394 if it conflicts.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Pinnacle drivers and codecs, reboot, then install only one DV500 E4 driver version. If Windows replaces it automatically, block automatic driver updates and reinstall; confirm the device appears under Sound, video and game controllers.
