Name: Philips SAA713X Hybrid Capture Device Driver
Author: Philips

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Philips installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and try Windows 7 compatibility mode. On Windows 10/11, use a signed SAA713X driver package or update manually via Device Manager.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the PCI slot/riser, reseat the card, and scan for hardware changes. Look for “Unknown device” or “Multimedia Video Controller” in Device Manager, then install the SAA713X driver before opening capture/TV software.

Question 3

Version conflicts or stutter?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old Philips/SAA713X drivers and bundled TV software, reboot, then install one matching driver package. Avoid mixing a Windows Update generic driver with the vendor driver, and set the correct PAL/NTSC standard in the capture app.
