Name: Pantech UM175 Driver
Author: Pantech

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the UM175 driver package as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for the target OS. If setup still fails, extract the package and update the “Pantech USB Modem” device manually via Device Manager.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Plug the UM175 directly into a rear USB port, not a hub. With the modem unplugged, install the driver first, then reconnect. Check Device Manager for unknown devices or a CD-ROM/mass-storage entry; the modem port must appear before connection software can use it.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Pantech/Verizon modem drivers and connection manager software, restart, then install one matching UM175 package. Avoid mixing drivers from other Pantech models.
