Question 1

Install fails or driver is unsigned?

Accepted Answer

Pantech PC Card drivers are often older. Run the installer as administrator, then use Device Manager > Update driver > Browse to select the INF manually. If Windows blocks it, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement or use compatibility mode for the driver’s listed Windows version.

Question 2

Card not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the PC Card slot is enabled in BIOS and the card is fully seated. Check Device Manager for an Unknown Device or PCMCIA controller problem; reinstall the slot/PCMCIA driver and try another slot. Remove previous Pantech modem entries first.

Question 3

Version or resource conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Pantech PC Card software and remove hidden modem/COM port entries before installing the matching package. If a resource conflict appears, let Windows auto-allocate IRQ/IO or reset the PCMCIA controller in Device Manager.
