Question 1

Install fails with Code 10/28 or “driver not intended for this platform”?

Accepted Answer

Confirm 32-bit vs 64-bit Windows, run the package as administrator, and reboot. Optical drives often use Windows’ built-in `cdrom.sys`; if setup still fails, uninstall the device in Device Manager and rescan.

Question 2

Drive not detected in Explorer or BIOS?

Accepted Answer

Check SATA/IDE power and data cables, try another port/cable, and confirm BIOS sees the AD 7710H. In Windows, remove stale UpperFilters/LowerFilters entries only after backing up the registry, then reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts or odd burning behavior?

Accepted Answer

Roll back/uninstall conflicting third-party burning or virtual-drive software, remove duplicate optical drivers, and use firmware only for the exact AD 7710H model. Avoid generic “DVD RW” driver packs.
