Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The AD-7560A is an older slim USB DVD writer, and modern Windows may not have a matching Optiarc installer. Don’t force an XP/Vista package—let Windows use its built-in CD/DVD driver. If setup must run, use “Run as administrator” and compatibility mode, then reboot.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the USB cable and use a rear USB 2.0 port or powered hub; slim optical drives can draw more power than a front port supplies. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes and look for “Unknown USB Device” or the drive under DVD/CD-ROM drives.

Question 3

Version/conflict errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any old Optiarc/NEC or third-party optical driver, select “Delete the driver software,” restart, and rescan. Remove duplicate drive entries and avoid driver-updater tools; Windows’ generic driver is usually the stable choice.
