Name: Optiarc DVD ROM DDU7710H ATA Device Driver
Author: Optiarc

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

The DDU7710H is a DVD-ROM drive and normally uses Windows’ native `cdrom.sys`; don’t force an incompatible Optiarc package. Update the SATA/IDE or chipset controller driver, then let Windows reinstall the drive.

Question 2

Drive not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm BIOS/UEFI lists the drive, reseat the SATA/IDE and power cables, try another port, then use Device Manager > Scan for hardware changes. Check for yellow warning icons.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old third-party burning/ISO filter drivers, uninstall the optical device, restart, and allow Windows to load the standard CD/DVD-ROM driver. Roll back if a recent driver update caused the issue.
