Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the OmniVision SuperCam installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and confirm the driver is signed for your Windows version. Remove any older OmniVision camera package before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port, preferably USB 2.0 on older SuperCam models; avoid unpowered hubs. In Device Manager, show hidden devices and scan for hardware changes. Check Windows camera privacy settings and any physical privacy shutter.

Question 3

Version conflicts / camera app errors?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall the previous OmniVision driver and SuperCam utility, reboot, then install the matching release. If Windows Update replaces it, roll back the driver or pause updates during installation.
