Author: Okidata

Question 1

Install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the Okidata C5400 installer as administrator, clear stuck print jobs, and restart the Print Spooler (`services.msc`). Disconnect USB until the installer prompts for it.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the C5400 is powered on and ready. Try a different USB 2.0 port/cable, avoid hubs, or for network models assign a static IP and add a TCP/IP port manually.

Question 3

Driver version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove old Okidata C5400 or universal driver entries in Print Management > All Drivers, restart the spooler, then install the correct 32/64-bit driver. Avoid mixing PCL and PostScript drivers on the same queue.
