Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Disconnect the printer cable, run the OKI ML590 installer as administrator, and use the ML590-specific package rather than a generic OKI driver. If Windows rejects it, install via Device Manager > Printers > Have Disk.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check the USB or parallel connection, avoid USB hubs, power the ML590 on before detection, and confirm the correct LPT/USB port in Printer Properties. For parallel cards, verify the port in BIOS.

Question 3

Version conflicts or duplicate queues?

Accepted Answer

Remove old ML590/ML590 Elite queues and drivers in Print Management, restart the Print Spooler, then reinstall the latest driver. Avoid mixing 32/64-bit or universal drivers.
