Author: Okidata

Question 1

Install fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, disconnect USB until prompted, and remove existing OKI C831 driver packages via Print Management > Drivers before reinstalling the C831 PCL package.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, use a direct rear-port connection and another cable. For network, assign a static IP and add a TCP/IP port instead of WSD. Confirm the C831 is on the same subnet.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Delete old OKI C831 PCL and PostScript queues, clear leftover ports, reboot, then install only the current Okidata C831 PCL driver. Avoid mixing 32-bit and 64-bit packages on shared print servers.
