Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Stop the Print Spooler service, remove existing OKI B412 entries in Printers & scanners, then run the installer as administrator. If it still fails, delete the old driver package from DriverStore before reinstalling.

Question 2

Printer not detected?

Accepted Answer

For USB, use a direct rear port and a known-good cable; avoid hubs. For network, confirm the printer has a valid IP and responds to ping, then add it manually by IP address.

Question 3

Version/driver conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous OKI or generic printer drivers, restart, and install only the Windows-version-matched B412 package. Temporarily disable automatic driver updates if Windows keeps replacing it.
