Name: Novell Digi 5500TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter Driver
Author: Novell

Question 1

Installer fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

The Digi 5500TX package may be unsigned or for older Windows. Run setup as administrator in compatibility mode for the target OS; if it still fails, install the INF manually via Device Manager > Update driver > Browse my computer.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Check Device Manager for an unknown PCI Ethernet controller. Reseat the 5500TX card, try another PCI slot, confirm PCI is enabled in BIOS, then install the matching INF rather than letting Windows pick a generic driver.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove any existing Novell/Digi or generic Ethernet driver for the card, reboot, and install only the 5500TX INF. Avoid mixing old and new packages; if needed, delete the old driver package in Driver Store.
