Name: Nokia N8 00 USB Device Driver
Author: Nokia

Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Older Nokia N8-00 USB drivers may be unsigned or incompatible with current Windows. Run the Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite installer as administrator, use Windows compatibility mode for the suite’s supported version, then reboot before reconnecting the phone.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

The N8-00 must be set to the correct USB mode (PC Suite/Ovi Suite or Mass storage) and use a known data cable, not charge-only. Try a rear USB port, avoid hubs, and reinstall Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite so the USB device driver is registered.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Multiple Nokia Connectivity/Ovi Suite driver versions can fight over the N8-00. Uninstall all Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite and Nokia USB drivers in Device Manager, reboot, then install one compatible suite version only.
