Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Lumia/Windows Phone driver package as administrator, confirm it matches 32-bit or 64-bit Windows, temporarily disable antivirus, and install the Windows Phone app for desktop before retrying.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a known data-capable USB cable, plug directly into a rear USB port, unlock the Lumia 920, and check Device Manager. If it shows as unknown, reinstall the Nokia/Windows Phone USB driver and reboot.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nokia PC Suite/Suite and duplicate Lumia drivers, enable “Show hidden devices” in Device Manager, remove stale entries, then install only the current driver/Windows Phone app.
