Name: Nokia Lumia 521 Driver
Author: Nokia

Question 1

Driver install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the installer as administrator, disconnect the Lumia 521, and temporarily disable third-party antivirus. On 64-bit Windows, use the signed Nokia/WP8 driver package; unsigned or modified INF files will be rejected.

Question 2

Lumia 521 not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a known-good data-capable micro-USB cable and a rear USB 2.0 port. Unlock the phone, accept any trust/USB prompt, then check Device Manager for “Nokia Lumia 521” or an unknown USB device. Reinstall the driver if it shows a warning icon.

Question 3

Version conflicts with older Nokia software?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall Nokia PC Suite, older Lumia USB drivers, and Windows Phone app leftovers before installing. Reboot, then install only the current Lumia 521 driver package to avoid duplicate MTP/serial driver entries.
