Question 1

Install fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

The Nokia 1006 uses legacy Nokia USB drivers. Run the installer as administrator and use Windows 7/Vista compatibility mode. Only disable driver signature enforcement temporarily if Windows blocks the driver.

Question 2

Phone not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a data-capable micro-USB cable, not a charge-only cable. Connect directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, set the phone to PC Suite/Modem mode if available, then refresh Device Manager.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nokia PC Suite/Ovi Suite and duplicate Nokia USB drivers, reboot, then install only the Nokia 1006-compatible driver. Avoid mixing newer Nokia drivers with the legacy package.
