Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nikon LS 2000 installer as Administrator and in compatibility mode for the Windows version the driver was built for. If Windows blocks the legacy driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the SCSI adapter is recognized, use a unique SCSI ID, check cable/termination, and power-cycle the LS 2000 before booting Windows. Rescan in Device Manager.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nikon Scan/Coolscan drivers, remove hidden scanner entries in Device Manager, reboot, then install only the matching LS 2000 driver package.
