Name: Nikon DSC COOLPIX L19 PTP Driver
Author: Nikon

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nikon driver installer as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for older Windows versions. If Windows blocks an unsigned/legacy package, disconnect the COOLPIX L19, install first, then reconnect.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Use a known data-capable USB cable, not a charge-only cable, and plug directly into a rear USB port. Set the L19’s USB mode to PTP in the camera menu, power it on, then check Device Manager for an unknown/PTP device.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nikon drivers and COOLPIX software, remove the camera in Device Manager, reboot, and reinstall one driver version only. Avoid third-party driver updaters; Windows’ built-in PTP/MTP support may be sufficient.
