Name: Nikon D90 Driver
Author: Nikon

Question 1

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the D90 directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. Turn the camera on and set its USB mode to Mass Storage or MTP. Check Device Manager for an unknown device or portable camera entry.

Question 2

Install fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Run the Nikon installer as administrator and temporarily pause antivirus. The D90 is legacy; if Windows already recognizes it via built-in MTP, avoid forcing an older driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall previous Nikon Transfer, ViewNX, or camera drivers, reboot, then install the latest compatible Nikon software. Close other tethering or photo apps before reconnecting the D90.
