Name: Nikon Coolpix S9700 Driver
Author: Nikon

Question 1

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the Coolpix S9700 is powered on and set to MTP/PTP or Mass Storage in its setup menu. Use a data-capable USB cable and plug directly into a rear USB port, not an unpowered hub.

Question 2

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nikon Transfer/ViewNX software first, reboot, then run the download as administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus and close other camera software during installation.

Question 3

Driver/version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

If Windows already detects the S9700 as a portable device, don’t force a generic driver. Remove duplicate Nikon entries in Device Manager, reboot, and reinstall only the package matching your Windows version.
