Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Use Nikon’s S3300 software/driver only if Windows does not recognize the camera. Run the installer as administrator, use Windows compatibility mode if needed, reboot before and after, and temporarily disable antivirus. Avoid third-party driver packs.

Question 2

Camera not detected?

Accepted Answer

Power on the Coolpix S3300, use the original USB cable and a direct rear USB port, and set the camera to playback/transfer mode. Check Device Manager for an unknown or MTP device, then try another cable/PC.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Nikon software/drivers, remove the camera and hidden USB/MTP entries in Device Manager, reconnect, and let Windows install its built-in WPD/MTP driver. Do not force an older driver on Windows 10/11.
