Question 1

Driver install fails or hangs?

Accepted Answer

Run the NexxTech USB-to-serial installer as administrator and in Windows compatibility mode if needed. If setup still fails, open Device Manager, right-click the adapter under “Other devices,” and update the driver manually from the downloaded folder.

Question 2

Device not detected / no COM port?

Accepted Answer

Try another USB port and cable, then check Device Manager for unknown devices. Uninstall any failed entry, reboot, and reconnect the adapter so Windows re-enumerates it.

Question 3

Version conflicts or wrong COM port?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older USB-to-serial drivers and remove stale COM ports in Device Manager (enable “Show hidden devices”). Then assign a free COM port under Port Settings > Advanced.
