Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Older NextEngine/ScanStudio drivers may be blocked by Windows driver signature enforcement or antivirus. Run the installer as administrator, temporarily disable antivirus, and use the latest ScanStudio build; on Windows 10/11, try compatibility mode.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the scanner’s power supply is connected and the USB cable is plugged directly into a rear USB 2.0 port—not a hub. Install ScanStudio first, then reconnect/power-cycle the scanner and check Device Manager for unknown USB/FTDI devices.

Question 3

Version conflicts after updating?

Accepted Answer

Remove old NextEngine/ScanStudio and hidden USB drivers before installing a newer package. Don’t mix driver and ScanStudio versions; reboot after uninstall and reinstall the matched set.
