Name: Netopia 802.11b WLAN USB Adapter Driver
Author: Netopia

Question 1

Installer fails or exits early?

Accepted Answer

Run the Netopia setup as administrator and, on newer Windows, try XP compatibility mode. Verify the driver matches your Windows version and 32/64-bit OS; this adapter’s older installer may not run on 64-bit Windows.

Question 2

Adapter not detected?

Accepted Answer

Install the INF/driver before plugging in the USB adapter. Try another USB port or a powered hub, then check Device Manager for an unknown device and update the driver manually by browsing to the Netopia INF file.

Question 3

Version or utility conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall older Netopia/WLAN utilities and other 802.11 adapters first. Use either the Netopia utility or Windows wireless configuration—not both—to avoid connection and profile conflicts.
