Name: NEC USB UF000x Device Driver
Author: NEC

Question 1

Install fails with Code 10/28?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the NEC UF000x package matches your Windows version and architecture (x86/x64), run the installer as administrator, then reboot. If Code 28 persists, open Device Manager, update the driver manually, and point “Have Disk” to the package’s INF file.

Question 2

Device not detected or shows “Unknown USB Device”?

Accepted Answer

Connect the UF000x directly to a rear USB port, not a hub. In Device Manager, uninstall the device with “Delete driver software,” rescan, and check that USB controller/chipset drivers are current. Disable USB selective suspend for that port.

Question 3

Version conflicts after an update?

Accepted Answer

Use Device Manager’s Roll Back Driver or uninstall all old NEC UF000x entries, restart, then install one clean package. Avoid mixing INF versions or architectures; if the device drops out after updating, roll back and keep the known-working version.
