Question 1

Install fails on Windows 10/11?

Accepted Answer

The V422 monitor INF may be older/unsigned. Extract the package, open Device Manager > Monitors > NEC MultiSync V422 (or Generic PnP Monitor) > Update driver > Browse > Let me pick > Have Disk, point to the INF, and reboot. Run the installer as admin.

Question 2

Monitor not detected / shows as Generic PnP?

Accepted Answer

Confirm the V422 is powered on and set to the correct input (VGA/DVI/DisplayPort), reseat the cable, and try another port. In Device Manager, scan for hardware changes; if EDID still isn’t read, swap the cable/adapter.

Question 3

Version conflicts / Windows Update overwrites?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old NEC monitor entries, including hidden devices, reboot, reinstall the V422 INF, then roll back or block the Windows-provided monitor driver if it replaces it.
