Author: Mustek

Question 1

Installer fails or stalls?

Accepted Answer

Run the Mustek setup as administrator and use Windows compatibility mode for XP/7. If Windows blocks the older unsigned scanner driver, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, install, then re-enable it.

Question 2

Scanner not detected?

Accepted Answer

Connect the BearPaw 1200 CU Plus directly to a rear USB 2.0 port, not a hub. Check Device Manager for an unknown imaging/USB device, reseat the cable, and confirm the scanner has power.

Question 3

Driver/TWAIN conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any previous Mustek scanner driver and TWAIN software, reboot, then install only the correct 32-bit or 64-bit package. Avoid mixing old and new driver versions.
