Question 1

Driver install fails or is blocked?

Accepted Answer

Use TI’s MSP430 USB FET driver package and run the installer as administrator. If Windows rejects it, temporarily disable driver signature enforcement, then reinstall and reconnect the FET430UIF.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Try a direct USB port, not a hub; use a known-good cable; power-cycle the adapter; check Device Manager for “TI USB FET” or unknown MSP430 debug interface. Close IAR/CCS before reinstalling the driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall old MSP430/TI USB drivers and MSP430 tools, select “Delete driver software” in Device Manager, reboot, then install the current TI driver or CCS/IAR-supported version. Avoid mixing old standalone drivers with newer IDE packages.
