Author: Moxa

Question 1

Install fails or rolls back?

Accepted Answer

Uninstall any older Moxa multiport serial drivers first, reboot, then run the C168 driver installer as administrator. On newer Windows versions, check whether the C168 package is signed/supported for your OS; legacy packages may need compatibility handling.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Reseat the C168 PCI card and try another PCI slot. Check Device Manager for an unknown “PCI serial port” or yellow warning; if absent, verify the card is enabled in BIOS and that the slot is working.

Question 3

Version/COM port conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Remove stale Moxa COM ports in Device Manager and clear old assignments in the Moxa utility before reinstalling. Use one matching C168 driver version and reboot so ports re-enumerate cleanly.
