Question 1

Driver install fails?

Accepted Answer

Windows may reject the older Motorola MB886 package or install the wrong architecture. Run the Motorola USB driver installer as administrator, choose the correct x86/x64 package, and reboot before reconnecting the phone.

Question 2

Device not detected?

Accepted Answer

Usually a charge-only cable, faulty port, or wrong USB mode. Use a known data cable and a rear USB port, set the MB886 to MTP/PTP, and enable USB debugging if using ADB. Check Device Manager for “Unknown Device” and update from the extracted driver.

Question 3

Version conflicts?

Accepted Answer

Existing Motorola, Google ADB, or generic Android drivers can conflict. In Device Manager, show hidden devices, uninstall old MB886/Android USB entries, delete the driver package, then reinstall the official Motorola driver and reboot before plugging in.
